Just a quick update to post some photos from the Party on the Beach.
Students from the University of Sussex have been working really hard for the last few months to plan the first event of 2010, 'Party by the Beach'. The event is being held at Concorde 2, a large music venue on the picturesque Brighton coastline. We are lucky enough to have 5 fantastic bands playing and the event is set to be a great night.
The tickets are £5 each with a student buy one get one free offer if purchased from the box office in Falmer House, University of Sussex. They are also being sold on the Concorde 2 website.
For more information take a look at the Concorde 2 website. Or join our facebook event 'Party By The Beach Fundraiser'
Hopefully we will see you there!

Last night there was a big pub collection around Brighton with 10 people helping to raise more than £100 for the next child's eventualities fund! Thank-you so much to everyone who donated and to everyone who came along to help out! We'll have a new child in school in no time!
Just to make everyone happy there is a lovely photo of the whole team! They are all stars thank-you!
Well, it's been quite some time since the launch ball and although our website has been quiet Milele has been carrying on forging forward. We have been over-run with fantastic donations of clothes, toys, books and shoes and have now cataloged over 1000 items! We are hoping to take almost all of these donations out with us to give out to local families and children. There are so many generous people who have donated some truly fantastic items and we would like to thank them all very very much, the items will make such a massive difference to people out in kenya! There will be loads of photos of these donations and all our other antics appearing on our new look website over the next month as we get back from our first offical visit to Mtwapa!!
But that's not all, we have also managed to carboot a large amount of collected and donated stuff which we just couldn't take out to kenya such as homeware items. We spent a full day from 6:25 til 1:00 standing on a field selling our wares. This all paid off and netted us over £100 which will be a fantastic help in shipping extra items out to kenya and buying mosquito nets etc out there. While at the carboot we also met lots of people who were great and helped us massively. David Freer who runs the A47 carboot near Earl Shilton allowed us to set up stall for free and kept announcing our face painting over the loudspeaker, we are very grateful for this help as I am certain it helped to push our total upwards. There were also lots of very generous customers and other stall holders who we would like to thank for donating left over items and cash.
Anyway, we have lots of packing and organising left to do before we jet off on monday, so thankyou for your interest, and keep checking out the website for regular updates from Mtwapa!!
